Lara and her dogs - Courtenay photographer

Just before the holidays I got the chance to photograph Lara and her 3 lovable dogs. We chose a "woodsy" location down near the Puntledge River to match the west-coast style of her home.

Chai, Diesel and Jack were all very cooperative and listened to Lara intently. It is clear that they have a special bond.

With my software I am able to take your room photo or a stock photo and create examples of how your artwork will look on your walls. Lara chose 3 16x20s in 20x24 mats.

Hope you had a very merry Christmas and all the best in 2018!

Mika - Courtenay Pet Photography

This week I got to meet Jan and Carroll and their 12-year-old miniature poodle, Mika. Mika has had some health problems of late, but she was still excited to meet me and pose for some portraits.

I love smiling dogs!

Jan and Carroll were fortunate to win one of the prizes in the "Paw Prints Fundraiser", raising money to help low-income families with the cost of spaying and neutering their pets. The project was spearheaded by Carrie Lumsden of K9Kind and the kids in the Taking the Lead Canine Therapy Program.

The Mackey Family - Comox Courtenay Photographer

Fall is in the air! Although I am sad to see the summer pass by, the beauty of early autumn is always amazing, and it is a great time to get the family together for a portrait. This time I got to photograph the Mackey family: Steve, Sandra, and their two rambunctious boys. Sandra had told me that they had never had a professional family portrait done before, and so this was a great chance for them to spend some time together outdoors and get some pictures at the same time.

Young boys don't tend to stay still for too long, so as much as possible I got them moving around. We picked a location along the "One Spot Trail" in Courtenay and it was a great place for the boys to explore.

We mixed it up with some rough-housing with Dad and more quiet moments with Mom.

We did actually get the boys to sit for a few minutes!

If you're considering a family photo session this fall, don't wait for the leaves to blow off the trees! I still have openings in October, so please contact me for more information. I would love to discuss how we can make some beautiful artwork for your home (and get some Christmas gifts taken off your list at the same time!).
